I went out at lunch. I hate it when I start out for lunch, just to get out of the building, and have no clue what I am going to eat. In a case such as that, I could drive in circles and never find anything that strikes my fancy. Too bad everything is in different directions. I have so many options available, but hey... I could have chosen Mexican, subs, Chinese, burgers, pizza, Taco Bell, McDonalds, sushi, salad, and the list goes on and on.
Anyway... today I went shopping and stopped to get a sub. It sounded so good - marinara sauce and chicken. Well, guess what, it wasn't... and I didn't like it... AT ALL. The sauce had no taste to it, kinda like tomato paste on a sandwich. (EWWWW) That totally crushed my idea on a yummy lunch. The wet paste then made the warm bread soggy and the whole thing was a disaster. Even the chicken didn't taste good, in my mind, because it was not very hot.
I am taking this to mean that I was not meant to have lunch today. I ate the couple of pickles off the soggy bread, took one more bite of the chicken breast, wrapped it in the paper and scored 2 points in the garbage.
Maybe today is the day to start my diet...

I've had one too many moments just like this at work...only to end up eating something I wish I hadn't. (i.e. junk food) Thanks for visiting my blog. I'm a new follower!
Yuck! Sorry you got such a nasty sub. I hate it when I have my mind set on a certain idea of what something will taste like and if it doesn't cut it, it's doubly disappoining.
Back when I was still working, I was lucky enough to live just a couple of minutes from work so I was able to go home every day for lunch. Hubby is able to do the same thing now, after years of commuting over 50 miles for work. (We live in a "city neighborhood" and are only a few blocks from the downtown business district) There's usually always something at home that beats the iffy-ness (if that's even a word LOL) of takeout any day.
Have a great day!

Oh yeah, it was disappointing. Oh well, shit happens. Guess I know better next time.
