Bloggy Mom Blog Dare... Unhealthy Habit... 03*23*12

a mom blog community

Friday March 23, 2012 - My most unhealthy habit.

Let me tell you. I am sure I have many of them, like so many of us, but I guess my one major habit is eating bad food. In most cases, I behave, but I have my guilty pleasure and cravings. I love the cheese-filled pretzels. I buy them when I am having one of those moods and I will eat a whole box without thinking twice... something about them...

Oh well, guess it could be worse...

SUSHI. I never imagined eating it, but it actually is really pretty good.

Tuesday, January 17, 2012 - The first time I saw...

In 2010, I took my son to see professional bull riding for the first time. It was awesome. He had a blast. We both got to meet a few of the riders. We drove to Iowa, but it was a weekend for us!!!

Monday January 2, 2012 - A look back at 2011.

2011 brought a lot of different things - such as my visit to the hospital, my first real vacation in over 10 years, my son's first plane trip, and even the reinvention of my blogs.

2011 has become a platform for me to jump into 2012.

Thanks to everyone who follows me (current, new, and soon to be following)

Friday, December 30, 2011 - A look back on 2011
Well, I have to admit - 2011 was a whirlwind of stuff for me and my family.
Too much to think about that it makes my poor brain hurt.
I learned a lot and got hurt a lot.
I got back up and dusted myself off.
I can't just lay there... nothing will get done,
and it sure as hell won't get better.
I guess trudging forward is the way to do it.
Out with the old, in with the new.
2011 taught me much,
made me realize that you never know when your life will change,
and always appreciate what you have.
But... I am looking forward to 2012...

Thursday December 29, 2011 - My New Years Resolution{s}...

Okay, so here we go again... the new year... the new year's resoluations...
So, we do make resolutions that we REALLY want to accomplish, or do we make the ones that we know we will are a shoe in to do? (That is the question).

My usual... all too often...
1. Lose weight
2. Go to the gym more often
3. Take more time for me
4. Find time to relax
5. Spend more time with my son
6. Stop (or cut back) on procrastinating.
7. Pass my upcoming college courses
8. Update my resume
9. Find happiness in my life

You do realize... this list could keep going on...
so I guess I'll spare you the pain of reading it, so I will end it here.

P.S... If we accomplish something exciting, can we add it to the list, so we can cross it off???? (Just checking!)

The scents of the season... {what smells remind me of the Holidays}

a mom blog community

The scents of the season...
* I LOVE the smell of bayberry - always have, always will... (I grew up with that candle scent in our house.)
* The smell of pine - when I was little, we always had a real tree.
Not many scents, but these two are the most prominent in my mind.

How we celebrate the Holiday Season {What holiday is celebrated in your home}

In our house, we celebrate the standard Christmas holiday. My son has gotten into the swing of setting the tree up and getting the lights on the porch.

Typically, we spend Christmas Eve with my mom's side of the family, where we all get together after the Christmas Eve church service and socialize and eat munchies. On Christmas morning, we get up and open presents. We then have breakfast and go about the day, as normal. We then go to my brother's house in the afternoon and have an early dinner with my brother's kids.

The holidays are pretty relaxed in our house. No point in stressing over them.

That's pretty much how the holiday goes for us.
