Mama Kat's Prompt - Tell us about something you punched.

Yes, this is kind of a risque prompt, but it's my past, my history, so I guess I might as well face it.

When I was in high school, my depression and anxiety has control over me. At that time, I did not have the treatment in place to deal with my "issues".

I had a situation where I got very upset and very frustrated. I remember, very vividly, when I punched the stone wall outside of the commons at a high school dance. I was upset, yet I don't remember what happened, or why. All I know is that my right hand is messed up, my knuckles beaten and bruised, with much arthritis to follow.

I did it, I punched a stone wall, I messed up my hand, I will suffer daily, as the weather changes, or as my body gets older.

It was stupid and I won't do it again... wish I hadn't done it in the first place...

I think we've all done some things that we wished we hadn't... but then again hindsight is always 20/20. I can't think of anything I punched but I'm sure I did. Happy New Year!!!

I'm w/Susi. Looking back, we'll always see things from a different perspective (or just clearer if our opinion of our actions hasn't changed). We learn and keep it going. At least you can say you won't be punching walls again.

ok so in highschool i jumped off my roof and broke both my heels...to which I STILL deal with the pain and arthritis daily. Why do we do such stupid stuff at that age?

Oh yea, go figure. I guess we tend to do stupid things when we were younger. It was the next summer that I think I hit the side of our house. I guess I didn't learn the first time. Now my knuckles are scarred to remind me routinely that was really wasn't smart at times!!!
